New Forest Meetup with Ted Delphia

The Fighting Cocks, Godshill The Fighting Cocks Pub, Godshill, Fordingbridge, Hampshire, United Kingdom

Ted Delphia and his family will be in the UK late March / early April, and have had their Invicta shipped over from the USA so that they can drive it in this country. They would love to meet as many Invicta owners as possible whilst they are here, and with that in mind, we are holding an informal lunchtime Invicta meeting for them in the New Forest on Saturday 1st April, when they will be in the area. The venue is a traditional pub, The Fighting Cocks, Godshill and we have reserved tables from mid-day onwards. The pub has plenty of parking, and is on the open forest. Please do support this meeting if you can. Ted is very keen to meet fellow club members, and whilst he would love to see plenty of Invictas too, if the weather is not conducive to that, please do come along anyway in whatever vehicle you feel is suitable on the day – old or modern. Registration: Please let the organiser know if you are intending to come so we can give the pub some idea of numbers for lunches. Club Organiser: Jo Moss-Kitcher, Email [email protected] or phone 01590 645311 or 07799 […]

Brooklands Best of British

Brooklands Museum Brooklands Drive, Weybridge, Surrey, United Kingdom

The Club Spring event this year will take place at the Best of British Day gathering at Brooklands Museum on Sunday, May 7th. We will have an area set aside for the club with dedicated spaces for 12 cars and a marquee to provide some shelter if needed. This is a great opportunity to meet up with fellow owners/club members and enjoy all that the historic Brooklands site has to offer including, for the adventurous, the opportunity to run their car up the famous Test Hill (requires signing-on). As a club event we'd like all participating Invicta cars to display information about the club and the car (model) as well as any special history or other information you'd like to show. To that end, if you let the organiser (Martin) know well in advance which car you are bringing plus the (optional) additional information to include we'll supply a laminated display card. Registration: Not strictly necessary but we would appreciate it if you would let the organiser know if you are intending to come and, as above, the vehicle you will be bringing so we can ensure we have the space. Please note only Invictas will be allocated space at […]

Invicta Car Club Autumn Brunch Meeting

The Departure Lounge Cafe Basingstoke Road, Alton, United Kingdom

We are arranging an informal Autumn Brunch Meeting on Sunday 8th October, at 10.30am at The Departure Lounge Café. The café has a lovely retro feel, and offers a great range of breakfasts, and also some really nice snacks and cakes – and Jo can personally recommend the Mint Aero Cheesecake – it is delicious! The Departure Lounge Café is based next to Brant Self Storage (at the far end) and is accessed via Brant’s car park. When approaching, it is best to look out for the signs for the storage facility, because the sign for the café is very small! The parking area is large, but does also offer overflow parking for a car boot sale (which may be on the same day) however, the café owner has offered to rope off space for our cars at one end of the car park, so there should be no issues with parking on the day. If you would like to attend this event (with or without your Invicta, depending on the weather!) please do let Jo know as soon as possible, as we need to give the café some idea of expected numbers. Jo's contact details can be found in […]

Tisted Fly-in

Tisted near West Meon Hut crossroads, Hants

This is an invitation event to a classic fly-in held at a private airstrip at East Tisted (not far from the A272 / A32 West Meon Hut crossroads, in Hampshire) The fly-in usually attracts a wide variety of classic and interesting aircraft and, unlike most events of this sort, you are able to walk right up to and around the planes – obviously giving due respect to moving propellor blades, etc! The event raises money for local charities and, everyone who arrives either by air or by road, is asked to make a small donation. People are encouraged to bring a picnic to enjoy, whilst watching the aircraft arriving and departing, although tea, coffee, cakes, ice creams, etc, are also available to buy inside the hangar on the day. Paul and I have been to the fly-in for the last two years with the Morgan Sports Car Club, who are one of the car clubs invited to the event. However, this year, the invitation has been extended to us, and whilst any Invicta will be made most welcome, it is also acceptable to come in other interesting vintage or classic cars as well. IMPORTANT - The event is obviously totally […]
