Nicknames

Between 1937 to 1939, the Invicta car club actively encouraged it’s members to name their cars, and for the S-types many of these names were taken from those of R and, appropriately, S-class destroyers built in the Royal Navy’s 1917-1918 Build Programme.

The tradition of (nick)naming the cars continued through to modern times with some cars changing names several times and some names moving between cars.
