SUMMARY:Tisted Fly-in
DESCRIPTION:This is an invitation event to a classic fly-in held at a private airstrip at East Tisted (not far from the A272 / A32 West Meon Hut crossroads\, in Hampshire) \nThe fly-in usually attracts a wide variety of classic and interesting aircraft and\, unlike most events of this sort\, you are able to walk right up to and around the planes – obviously giving due respect to moving propellor blades\, etc! \nThe event raises money for local charities and\, everyone who arrives either by air or by road\, is asked to make a small donation. People are encouraged to bring a picnic to enjoy\, whilst watching the aircraft arriving and departing\, although tea\, coffee\, cakes\, ice creams\, etc\, are also available to buy inside the hangar on the day. \nPaul and I have been to the fly-in for the last two years with the Morgan Sports Car Club\, who are one of the car clubs invited to the event. However\, this year\, the invitation has been extended to us\, and whilst any Invicta will be made most welcome\, it is also acceptable to come in other interesting vintage or classic cars as well. \nIMPORTANT – The event is obviously totally weather dependent – and will be postponed or cancelled if the forecast predicts bad weather\, so if you would like to attend\, you MUST let me know in advance\, and provide me with a contact mobile phone number. I will need to liaise with the organisers first thing on Saturday morning\, and then message anyone who intends to come\, to confirm that the fly-in is going ahead (or not\, as the case may be) \nIf you are interested in attending\, please email – jomosskitcher@btinternet.com   \nI can then make a note of your mobile phone number\, and also provide instructions about how to find the extremely well hidden entrance to the airstrip!

SUMMARY:Invicta Car Club Autumn Brunch Meeting
DESCRIPTION:We are arranging an informal Autumn Brunch Meeting on Sunday 8th October\, at 10.30am at The Departure Lounge Café. \nThe café has a lovely retro feel\, and offers a great range of breakfasts\, and also some really nice snacks and cakes – and Jo can personally recommend the Mint Aero Cheesecake – it is delicious! \nThe Departure Lounge Café is based next to Brant Self Storage (at the far end) and is accessed via Brant’s car park. When approaching\, it is best to look out for the signs for the storage facility\, because the sign for the café is very small! \nThe parking area is large\, but does also offer overflow parking for a car boot sale (which may be on the same day) however\, the café owner has offered to rope off space for our cars at one end of the car park\, so there should be no issues with parking on the day. \nIf you would like to attend this event (with or without your Invicta\, depending on the weather!) please do let Jo know as soon as possible\, as we need to give the café some idea of expected numbers. Jo’s contact details can be found in every issue of the Invicta News or she can be private messaged through the forum. \nWe look forward to hearing from you (and of course seeing you on the day)

SUMMARY:Brooklands Best of British
DESCRIPTION:The Club Spring event this year will take place at the Best of British Day gathering at Brooklands Museum on Sunday\, May 7th. We will have an area set aside for the club with dedicated spaces for 12 cars and a marquee to provide some shelter if needed. This is a great opportunity to meet up with fellow owners/club members and enjoy all that the historic Brooklands site has to offer including\, for the adventurous\, the opportunity to run their car up the famous Test Hill (requires signing-on). \nAs a club event we’d like all participating Invicta cars to display information about the club and the car (model) as well as any special history or other information you’d like to show. To that end\, if you let the organiser (Martin) know well in advance which car you are bringing plus the (optional) additional information to include we’ll supply a laminated display card. \nRegistration: Not strictly necessary but we would appreciate it if you would let the organiser know if you are intending to come and\, as above\, the vehicle you will be bringing so we can ensure we have the space. Please note only Invictas will be allocated space at the club stand. \nAdmission: Normal Brooklands Museum admission applies and tickets will need to be purchased through the Museum website. \nRefreshments: The museum provides a number of food stalls with cuisine ranging from Burgers to Thai and even Greek on occasion as well as a conventional canteen. \nClub Organiser: Martin Mayhead\, email: martin.mayhead@gmail.com

SUMMARY:New Forest Meetup with Ted Delphia
DESCRIPTION:Ted Delphia and his family will be in the UK late March / early April\, and have had their Invicta shipped over from the USA so that they can drive it in this country. \nThey would love to meet as many Invicta owners as possible whilst they are here\, and with that in mind\, we are holding an informal lunchtime Invicta meeting for them in the New Forest on Saturday 1st April\, when they will be in the area. \nThe venue is a traditional pub\, The Fighting Cocks\, Godshill and we have reserved tables from mid-day onwards. The pub has plenty of parking\, and is on the open forest. \nPlease do support this meeting if you can. Ted is very keen to meet fellow club members\, and whilst he would love to see plenty of Invictas too\, if the weather is not conducive to that\, please do come along anyway in whatever vehicle you feel is suitable on the day – old or modern. \nRegistration: Please let the organiser know if you are intending to come so we can give the pub some idea of numbers for lunches. \nClub Organiser: Jo Moss-Kitcher\, Email jomosskitcher@btinternet.com or phone 01590 645311 or 07799 720507 \nAdditional Directions: If you are approaching from the motorway\, you can leave the M27 at Cadnam\, heading for Bramshaw\, and then drive through the forest via a road called Roger Penny Way (B3078) which takes you across several miles of beautiful open forest and heathland\, and straight to the pub. Please be aware that it is a 40mph speed limit though\, and keep a good eye out for ponies and cattle that tend to wander into the road in front of you (they have right of way and there are no fences).
